The Festival

After a sell-out first year, Kent's biggest music festival returns for 2017, as we welcome over 10,000 people to our new home - Port Lympne!

Taking place on Saturday 23rd September 2017, the one-day festival will once again showcase some of the UK’s biggest DJs, live acts and chart-topping artists across multiple stages.

Gates open at 12pm and the site closes at 11pm. Last entry is 6pm.

You must be at least 16 years of age to attend Southbeats Festival. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Everyone must bring valid photographic ID (even if you are under 18). Suitable forms of valid photographic ID include your passport, driving licence and any photographic ID that carries the PASS logo. Photocopies are not acceptable.

  • Security, searches and drugs policy

    All bags will be thoroughly checked upon entry. Searching is a condition of entry to the festival, refusal of a search will result in refusal of admission.

    There is a zero tolerance policy to drugs at Southbeats Festival. Anyone found in possession of illegal substances and contraband items will be refused admission or ejected from the site and may also be liable for prosecution. Any items found that may be used in an illegal or offensive manner will be confiscated. This includes nitrous oxide (laughing gas).

    We reserve the right to refuse admission and no refunds will be offered to customers who are refused entry or ejected from the site.

    Disabled Access

    Disabled parking will be available (in the main car park) for Blue Badge holders and there will be plenty of disabled toilets on site. Please note that the majority of the site is grass and may be uneven in places.

    We operate a free carer ticket policy for eligible customers. To apply, please purchase a ticket to obtain a reference number and then contact us at info@southbeatsfestival.com to request a carer ticket. Please have supporting disability documentation prepared.

    The deadline to apply for carer tickets is 10th September 2017 – we will not be able to process any applications received after this date.

  • Lost Property

    For all lost property enquiries on the day, please visit the ‘Information’ point located near the entrance. For all lost property enquiries after the event, please contact us.

    We will only hold onto items for 6 weeks after the event. After this time the items will be donated to a local charity.

    Drinks Tokens

    Southbeats Festival operates a drinks token system – tokens must be purchased to be exchanged for drinks at the bars. You will not be able to buy drinks with cash or card.

    Drink tokens can be purchased online in advance or on the day from one of our token stalls. We advise purchasing your drink tokens in advance as you will be able to collect them using our fast-track collection lanes on the day. Drinks tokens cannot be refunded.

    Warning

    Line-up, set times and billing subject to change.

    Exposure to loud music can damage your hearing.

    Strobe lights and smoke machines will be in use.

    Smoking is prohibited in all covered areas (including big top arenas).

    Please be aware of pickpockets and keep your personal belongings safe at all times.

    Ticket holders agree to appear for no fee in any filming and/or recording of the event.

  • Where is Southbeats?

    Southbeats Festival will take place at Port Lympne Reserve, Lympne, Hythe, Kent, CT21 4LR. The festival site is located on the Grasslands, next to the park’s visitor car park.

  • When is Southbeats?

    Southbeats Festival is on Saturday 23rd September 2017.

  • What time is the festival?

    Doors open at 12pm and the site closes at 11pm. Last entry is 6pm. If you arrive after this time you will not be allowed into the festival and your ticket will not be refunded.

  • How do I get there?

    Port Lympne is easily accessible via car, taxi, bus, coach, shuttle and train. For detailed travel information, please visit our Travel page.

  • Is there car parking?

    Yes, parking will be available on site. Parking is £10 per car and can be booked in advance or paid for on the day. We advise pre-booking your car parking space to avoid disappointment.

  • Is there a drop off/pick up point?

    Drop off/pick up points will be clearly signposted from surrounding roads.

  • Disabled access

  • Will there be cash points?

    Yes, cash points will be available on site. Please note that there will be a small transaction charge per withdrawal.

  • Can I bring my own alcohol?

    You are not allowed to bring alcohol on site. There will be plenty of bars. All bags will be searched on entry and any alcohol will be confiscated.

  • Can I access Port Lympne reserve with my Southbeats ticket?

    Southbeats Festival will take place on the Grasslands, located next to the park’s visitor car park. Ticket holders will NOT have access to the reserve. 

  • Is there a lost property?

  • Are there any age restrictions?

    You must be at least 16 years of age to gain entry to the festival. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

    A person aged 18 or over can bring a maximum of 1 person under the age of 18 with them. A person aged 21 or over can bring a maximum of 2 people under the age of 18 with them.

    Southbeats Festival operates a Challenge 25 policy - www.challenge25.org. EVERYONE must bring valid photographic ID (even if you are under 18). Suitable forms of valid photographic ID include your passport, driving licence and any photographic ID that carries the PASS logo. Photocopies are not acceptable. We will not refund tickets purchased by anyone under the age of 16 or anyone without appropriate ID.

  • What about ticket refunds?

    All tickets are sold on a no-refund basis. If you feel you have an extenuating circumstance, please contact us.

    If you can no longer attend the festival, you may pass your tickets onto friends. Please note that once the barcode has been scanned on entry, tickets cannot be reused.

  • Can I sell my ticket?

    Tickets CANNOT be re-sold. This is for the safety of our customers. If you can no longer attend the festival, you may pass your tickets onto friends. Please note that once the barcode has been scanned on entry, tickets cannot be reused.

  • I’ve lost my ticket. What do I do?

    All of our online tickets are sent via email. Please check your inbox and junk mail. If you still can’t find your ticket, please contact our ticket provider via email at support@fatsoma.com.

  • What if it rains?

    Come prepared to get wet! Umbrellas are not permitted on site but ponchos will be available to purchase. The festival will not be cancelled due to bad weather unless the site is deemed to be dangerous.

  • Will there be a cloak room?

    Yes, there will be a cloak room available on site for a small charge on a first-come, first served basis. 

  • Will there be free water?

    There will be free water drinking points available on site. Please remember to keep hydrated throughout the day.

  • Can I bring my own food and drink?

    You are not allowed to bring food or drink on site. There will be plenty of varied food/beverage stalls and free water points on site.

  • Where can I find out when the acts are playing?

    Programmes containing full set times will be available to buy on the day. 

  • Can I leave the site and come back?

    Once you have entered the festival there is strictly no re-admission. If you leave the site, you will not be allowed to re-enter and tickets will not be refunded.

  • Is there camping?

    There is no camping at Southbeats Festival. There are several hotels and B&Bs nearby – please use search engines to find suitable accommodation.

    Applications for paid bar staff roles at Southbeats are now open. You must be over the age of 18 and be available to work all day/night on Saturday 23rd September 2017.

  • Is there anything I shouldn’t bring to the festival?

    The below items are prohibited and will be confiscated. We reserve the right to confiscate any items not listed below that we deem to be inappropriate/dangerous.

    - Air Horns
    - Alcohol
    - Animals (other than registered guide or hearing dogs)
    - Chairs of any sort
    - Excessive amounts of cigarettes
    - Flares/fireworks
    - Food and drink (there will be plenty of varied food/beverage stalls on site)
    - Glass/sharp objects
    - Illegal substances/legal highs
    - Laser pens
    - Medications (unless in sealed, unbroken packaging)
    - Megaphones
    - Nitrous Oxide
    - Professional photographic, video or recording equipment

  • Is first aid available on site?

    First aid will be available on site. These will be clearly signposted. Visit the first aid tents for assistance with any medical issues.
